Mary Louise Streep was born on June 22nd 1949. Meryl is an American actress and has been in theatre, television and films.
Meryl has received 16 Academy Award nominations, although she only won two. She also was nominated for 25 Golden Globes, she won seven of those. That is more nominations than any other actor in the history of acting in either award! Pretty impressive I thought.
She has won two Emmy Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Cannes Film Festival award, four New York Film Critics Circle Awards, five Grammy Award nominations, a BAFTA award, an Australian Film Institute Award and a Tony Award nomination. She was awarded the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. Meryl Streep is widely regarded as one of the most talented and respected movie actors in her generation and now.
Meryl Streep was born in Summit New Jersey but grew up in Benardsville. Her mother Mary Wolf (née Wilkinson)a commercial artist and former art editor, and Harry William Streep Jr. her Father was a pharmaceutical executive. She has two brothers, Dana and Harry.
Meryl and her family is German,Swiss and English. She was raised to be Presbyterian. She was asked though if religion plays a part in her life now during an interview in 2009, Meryl replied, "I follow no doctrine. I don't belong to a church or a temple or a synagogue or an ashram."
Meryl was in a relationship with actor John Cazale until his death in March of 1978. She then married sculptor Don Gummer on September 15, 1978. They have four children Louisa Jacobson Gummer, Grace Jane, Henry Wolfe, and Mamie Gummer. Grace and Mamie are now actresses.

My favorite films she acted in are The Deer Hunter,Defending Your Life, Death Becomes Her,The River Wild,A.I. Artificial Intelligence,Adaptation,Stuck On You,Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events and The Manchurian Candidate.
She also has done voices for cartoons The Simpsons as Jessica Lovejoy episode "Barts Girlfriend in 1994. King of the Hill episode "A Beer Can Named Desire" as Aunt Esme Dauterive.
